My Sister's Grad :)

Hiiii! :)

This evening was my sisters grade 8 graduation and I was so proud of her! It was nice being able to go back to my elementary school and see her graduate. She actually had the same teacher for grade 8 that I did. My sister and I both love this teacher, she is amazing!

My sister looked beautiful and her dress was so pretty! I got to do her makeup (which she doesn't ever let me do.... she hates makeup:P) It is just hard to believe how grown up my little sister is getting. The ceremony was lovely and they had a cute little slide show with everyone's baby pictures at the end. Afterwards everyone went outside for pictures and then we got refreshments and stuff in the gym. I'm kind of sad since I didn't actually get a picture with her... it was quite chaotic!
Doesn't she look beautiful! :)
I let her borrow my bow clip since it went with her dress perfectly! :)
It was such a lovely evening and I'm glad I got to share this special day with my sister, I love her dearly! :) <3

I hope you all have a wonderful day,

Pretty in Pink

Hiiii! :)
I want to share with you a certain lipstick that I have been loving for the past little while.
I did not  actually start wearing lipstick until a few months ago, and so it is probably no surprise that I am not yet comfortable wearing very bold colours (unless it's for a special occasion). I prefer to stick with softer coloured lipsticks that I can wear for outings such as shopping with my friends or going out for lunch. A few months ago I purchased the Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick (Rimmel London) in 103.

It is a gorgeous pink matte colour and I have worn it sooooo much in May and June. It is just perfect for me. It's not a scary/bold shade but it isn't so soft that you can't see it. I also like the fact that it is not glittery, it's more of just an every day lipstick. A bonus is that it is a drugstore lipstick so it isn't expensive :)
I apologize for the awful lighting!

The staying power of this lipstick is awesome , and it is very pigmented. I do however find that it can be drying so I usually put a bit of lip balm on before I use it.
It is just so pretty and I love wearing it. If you are looking for a good, cheap lipstick I would definitely recommend these Rimmel London Kate Moss ones!
I hope you all have a lovely day!

Beautiful Nature

Hiiii! :)

Today was absolutely gorgeous (well it rained early in the morning but that cleared up quickly). The sun was shining, it was the perfect temperature and it was jut wonderful being outside! This afternoon I decided to just enjoy the nice weather and read on my porch with my dog. I actually finished reading The Last Song a couple hours ago and I really liked it, although the last few chapters are very emotional.  Personally I like it a lot better than the movie but that's what usually happens. :)

As I sat on my porch I just put my book down for a bit and enjoyed the scenery. There was actually quite a lot of activity on this particular day. There has been a coyote near my house the past few weeks and it made another appearance today. My dog tried to run after it, but thankfully the coyote was beyond my dog's electric fence line. They had a little stare down but when I grabbed Jasper the coyote got scared and ran away.

Sorry it's a bit blurry, he was kind of trotting away but here is the coyote
The coyote was definitely the biggest animal I saw today, but I got to see so many other wonderful creatures as well:

We have a few bird feeders and I love seeing all the pretty birds that come to visit!

This was a baby bunny that wandered onto our lawn, but he ran off before I got too close
There were even cute ducks in the creek beside our house
Jasper enjoyed the nice weather too!
Today was such a wonderful day. It was nice to be able to sit outside and just enjoy nature. As you can probably tell from previous blog posts, I do enjoy being outside. It's just so peaceful and it's nice to be able to slow down every now and then.
I hope you all had a wonderful day, feel free to leave any thoughts you may have below!

Off to the Vet!

Hiii! :)

This morning was quite eventful as I had to take my kitty to the vet for a shot. Now I am 100% a dog person, and I have a dog named Jasper whom I love with all my heart, but I am starting to like cats too now that I actually have one.  He is 10 months old, his name is Dumbledore (Yes I know... I just love Harry Potter :P) and he is just the fluffiest, cutest cat ever!

This is his 2rd visit to the vet and all I can say is that he really does not like it at all! Instead of a crate, he has a leash which we are still trying to get him used to.
He still does not love it, and so I had to trap him in a little room this morning just to get it on! Eventually we were ready to leave but he was so noisy the whole car ride.

Now he doesn't actually shed that much which is nice, but when I take him to the vet the shedding is insane!! His fur just goes everywhere because he is so stressed. I had to carry him in instead of letting him walk because there were a few dogs at the vet as well, so I got a bunch of his fur in my face. I am also now sporting some lovely scratches in the neck region... thanks a bunch Dumbledore! But this visit was actually a lot better than the first time I brought him.

I think he was tired when I brought him home because he just went off on his own and had a little rest. I also think he was a tad traumatized and just wanted to get away from me before I could take him on another car ride.
Someone's tired!
They love this spot in my room!

Although it is such a hassle taking him to the vet, it was kinda fun, and he is just such a cutie!! I just absolutely adore all animals, especially my own pets and I love them both so much!!
I hope you all have a wonderful day,

The Perfect Evening

Hiiii! :)
I love evenings where there is nothing you have to do, nowhere you have to be, and you can just relax in your sweat pants and read a book. Tonight was one of those relaxing evenings. I lit a candle, made some peppermint tea, got comfortable with my blanket and started reading the Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.

This is my warm vanilla sugar candle from Bath and Body works... it smells wonderful!!

A few weeks ago I went to the library and got this book because I have seen the movie and enjoyed it, yet I haven't read the book. This is very odd because usually I need to read a book before I see the movie. Anyways, I decided to start reading it tonight even though I'm in the middle of another book (Wicked by Gregory Maguire) because I have to return it in a few days.

I haven't read too much of it yet but so far I am enjoying it. Usually I like books more than the movies, so I'm excited to finish this one! Even though it was kind of a slow evening I had a really nice night. Sometimes you just need to slow down and read a book for a couple hours.
If any of you have recently read a good book that you would recommend let me know, I am always looking for something new to read :)
I hope you all have a lovely evening,

Shopping again?

Hiiii! :)
So Father's Day is this weekend and last night I realized that I had yet to get my dad a gift. My Dad is so hard to shop for so I usually need some time to figure something out. One of my best friends also hadn't gotten her dad anything so we decided to go look for something today. Now this is the same friend that I have mentioned in previous posts (check out her blog HERE) and we should not be allowed to shop together. We both have very little self control and so we ended up buying a few things for ourselves as well.

First we went to Target because we just got a new one close to where we live and we hadn't been in it yet. Of course the clothing section was at the very front so we had to check it out. I ended up finding a really cute dress for $8 so how could I resist buying it? When I got home, I realized it had pockets too which was a lovely surprise! It is also a nice comfortable material, so I will definitely be wearing this a lot!
I especially love the bows on it, and the fact that it has pockets!

I also got a few more small items from Target....
I know that I didn't need the magazine, but I just wanted one to read so I got it anyways:P  I also got a NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil which I actually used when I got home. I got the 716 Pink brown one, but to me it is more like a coral colour. It is a bit shimmery and looks almost metallic when you put it on. It's really pretty but it isn't too crazy so I can wear it anytime! The last thing I got was the Goody Tanglefix. Basically it is like a brush and so far I really like it! It is nice to hold and  find it goes through  my hair easily. However my hair is straightened today so hopefully it works just as well on my natural hair.

I had picked up all these items and still hadn't found anything for my dad so I ended up just getting my dad a gift card that works at a few different restaurants which I think he will enjoy.

We decided to stop at winners and see if there was anything we liked there, and there were, but we actually did not buy anything (which is kind of surprising).
We then made a pit stop at dollarama to get a few more things. My dad absolutely loves liquorice allsorts so I got him 3 bags.

We decided to go to Starbucks for a nice little sit down and I had a gift card which was awesome! We ended up just having lunch there as it was almost 4pm and we hadn't eaten yet. I got this chicken, quinoa and veggie wrap which was actually very delicious. I wasn't expecting it to be that good! I also got a Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino. I am in love with chocolate so this was just perfect! There was even chocolate whipped cream which is just amazing. We sat outside because it was such a beautiful day (although now it looks like there is going to be a storm!) and had a lovely chat.  We both enjoyed the lunch and sunlight!

It was such a fun day, I always love getting to see my friends!
I hope you all have a wonderful day, and hopefully the weather was nice wherever you were too :)

Cool Stripes

Hiiii! :)
I was a little bored this afternoon so I decided to do my nails again, but instead of just painting them normally I wanted to try something different. About a year ago I bought a cheap pack of paint brushes to use on my nails. Normally I just used the thinner ones to make simple designs, but I recently came across a nail design that uses a fan brush. One of those brushes came in the pack I bought but I didn't know what to use it for so I just ignored it. When I finally found something I could use it for I was very excited.
Fan Brush
Pacific Blue, Mint Sorbet and Pink Lingerie
First, I did the base coat in Sally Hansen's Mint Sorbet, and then the horizontal stripes were done in Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue and Revlon's Pink Lingerie. I simply dipped the fan brush into the pink first and swiped across horizontally from the left and right side of the nail. I then did this with the blue polish.
The good thing about this is that it's so easy to do and it looks sick! I'm glad that I gave it a go and I will definitely be trying this design with different colours.
Feel free to leave any thoughts below  and I hope you all have a fantastic day! :)

Friends

Hiii! :)
I find that I  don't really watch a lot of TV. During the year I'm really busy with school and competitive hockey and other activities, so I find it rather difficult to keep up with shows. Instead, when I find a show that I really enjoy, I save some money and try to gradually buy the seasons so that I can watch it whenever I feel like it.

One of my all time favourite shows has to be Friends. I find it very difficult to pick an absolute favourite show but this one is very close to the top (along with a few others). I forget exactly when I started loving it, but it was a while ago. Over the course of some Birthdays and Christmas's and even purchasing some myself, I finally got all ten seasons. Yay!

Now this year was very stressful, as it was my first year of unversity, so I didn't really watch any shows or movies that I have. I was just too busy. A few nights ago I rediscovered my Friends seasons. I hadn't actually watched them in ages!! It must have been at least a year, so I was like why not watch them all again!

I finished season 1 two days ago and sadly two of the discs are very scratched which is a  bit upsetting (I really have no idea when or how that happened). However I am now onto season 2 and I am happy to say that it is still one of my favourite shows. I just think it is so funny and I enjoy watcing it a lot! Personally, my favourite characters are Chandler and Phoebe, but I do love the others as well. It is just a wonderful feeling being able to curl up on the couch on a rainy day and watching a show that you love. Plus, the theme song is great too, I always do the clapping part (those of you who watch friends will understand) :)Theme song

Feel free to leave any thoughts you may have below! Let me know what your favourite shows are. :)
I hope you all have an awesome day!

Sushi!

Hiiii! :)

I feel like all I have done today is sleep and eat. One of my best friends stayed over last night and we stayed up pretty late (well early I guess) watching movies and going on Youtube and such . We drifted off to sleep when the sky began to get lighter, so we slept in quite late (until lunch time).

Whenever we are together we always say how we want to go get sushi somewhere because we both like it. To be honest I just like any type of food! Today we decided was the perfect day to get some. We had nothing to do in the afternoon, plus it was raining and cold, so  it wasnts really a day we wanted to spend outside. We got ready and headed out to get our long awaited sushi! There is a place near us called The Villa. It is this little Japanese restaurant and I had never actually been inside it before.

My friend and I both got the same thing and we got dumplings as an appetizer as well. For drinks we got Japanese green tea which was lovely and with the meals we also got a little bowl of salad and some soup. The soup had tofu and seaweed and other stuff in it but it was soooo tasty and it just warmed me right up! It was actually a lot better than I expected. The salad was delicious as well. It had this orange dressing on it that I had never had before and it was very good. Actually all the food was absolutely delicious! There was shrimp and crab and rolls with avocado and more. It was wonderful.
Now the soup and salad may not appear to be that tasty but I assure you they were! I promise :)
There was actually a substantial amount of food, and we ate it all!
I thought the tea pot was just so pretty!
Now there was one problem.... the only utensil that we were given were chopsticks. Now I don't use these very often (hardly ever) so I struggled quite a lot. My friend, who actually knew how to use chopsticks, thought it was hilarious. It was kind of humorous I must admit, although I did make a mess of the table and myself. I splashed soy sauce everywhere, my sushi rolls broke into pieces, rice fell every which way! Luckily we went in the middle of the afternoon so we were basically the only people at the restaurant at this time so no one else saw my chopsticks fiasco!

All in all it was such a fantastic afternoon, despite the dreary weather. The food was delightful, and it was nice just chatting and having fun with my friend. It was a lovely day and it was actually relaxing too. Also my friend got a phone call for a job interview which is extremely exciting so my fingers crossed for her! :)
I hope you all had enjoyable days as well!

May Favourites

Hiiii :)
As you are all aware, May has ended and we are already a few days into June. This means that it is time for my monthly favourites. I am going to include anything that I have really enjoyed this month, and there is no specific category.

First, I want to start with two items that I have worn a lot over the course of May. First there is my Sleek makeup palette in storm which I purchased at the beginning of the month. A few of the Youtubers I watch have mentioned these palettes and I wanted to try one. I am glad I got it because it is wonderful! It is kind of difficult to see in the picture, but I definitely use the more neutral brown/gold shadows more. I have worn this for the majority of the month and the colour payoff is amazing! It also has good lasting power.  The palette comes with both shimmery and matte colours which I really like as well. It is not only amazing quality, but the price was phenomenal as well! I had to order it online but the total was just under $13 (and that includes shipping).
Another eyeshadow that I had to include is the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. I bought about two weeks ago and it was worth every penny! The colour is so pretty, and it's neutral so its perfect for every day.I usually just wear it alone because I like the way it looks. It literally lasts all day! I went out with my friends last week during the day, and then I had a soccer game in the evening. When I got home this eyeshadow was still on.
I just love both of these items!

Another favourite that is in the cosmetics category is the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream. I don't like having a lot of makeup and stuff on my face, so this was perfect! It's very light yet it evens out my skin and makes it look nicer. I don't really need a lot of coverage, so this is a great product for me because it isn't super thick.  It also has SPF 30 which I really like because my faces burns quite easily, plus it is oil free.  I usually wear it any time that I'm leaving the house.

A few weeks ago I also bought Biosilk Silk Therapy Conditioner. Usually this product is close to $20 which can be a bit expensive for conditioner. I went to winners though and it was only 10 bucks so I got it and I am so happy I did! My hair can get very frizzy, especially in the summer months. When I started using this it really helped with the frizz and made my hair feel a lot softer. It also has a fantastic scent. It just makes my hair feel amazing and much healthier. The bottle is quite large too, so it is lasting a long time which is always good! :)

For music, my favourite would have to be the new Bastille CD. You may remember this from one of my previous blog posts about the new albums that I purchased. I have been listening to this pretty much nonstop all month! The album is just amazing and perfect for any mood that I'm in. It is just perfect in every way!

My favourite movie for this month is the Lorax. I have watched in numerous times and I never get sick of it! The music is perfect and it is just so cute. It had a good message and it is a very well done movie. Plus Zac Efron is in it (well his voice) and I just love him! I got it for only $10 which is a great deal. If you have not seen this movie I would definitely recommend it!
My final favourite for the month of May is my Pink Floyd shirt. I got this shirt in May as well and I love wearing it. First of all it is super comfy and it's nice and loose. The material is thin so it is perfect for the summer, and the back has neat rips all along the back. Plus there are cool studs on the shoulders. I got it from Urban Planet and it was a great price. I have been wearing it a lot and it just makes me feel a bit edgy!
Well those are my favourites from May. Feel free to leave any of your thoughts below, or let me know what some of your favourites were. I hope you all have a fantastic day!
