Let it Snow

Helloooo :)

Last night I handed in my very last assignment of the year! No more midterms or essays (until after Christmas) and it feels wonderful. There are still exams to look forward too (eeek!) but its nice to know I'm almost done this semester. I went to bed last night feeling relieved that I don't have to worry about anything for a while besides studying, and when I awoke everything was covered in snow. It was truly beautiful.

It is just so beautiful <3
I absolutely love snow. I know that many people do not agree with me on this, but there is something so magical about it and I kind of  got over excited and took an excessive amount of pictures.... hehehe! But just seeing this when I woke up has put me in a good mood for the rest of the day. I finished my essay on time and it snowed, how perfect is that!

This is my last week of classes as well which is exciting. I'm a bit flabbergasted at how quickly this semester flew by! As much as I am looking forward to the holidays I wish time could just slow down a bit. I honestly feel like i just started university and I'm already halfway through second year! How does that happen?

Today has started off wonderfully, and I know this post isn't really about anything in particular, but I just felt like I had to write it. I hope you all have a lovely day, and don't forget to smile!! :D And I will leave you with a song that always puts me in a good mood- Come on Eileen! :)

Products I Regret Buying

Hiiii! :)

Today as a procrastination tactic, I decided to browse through some of my makeup. I really don't know why, but when you are trying to avoid writing an essay it seems like a reasonable thing to do! As I was doing this, I noticed there were a few products which I regret buying. There weren't a ton, but there was just enough to put into a blog post!

The first item is the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. I was very excited when I purchased this because it seemed like such an interesting blush. I had high hopes for this because there are so many Maybelline products that I like, but sadly I was disappointed.

The texture of it seemed neat (almost like playdough) , as well as the concept of it (that it feels like a powder but goes on like a cream). Personally I did not like it. Yeah the feeling of it was nice, but I found it just wasn't very pigmented. I got it in the shade Rose Petal (15) , so perhaps it was just not the right colour for me, but it just did not show up on my skin at all. I tried to build it and it still wasn't doing anything for me, the pigmentation is just not good.

The next item is Rimmel's Glam Eyes Eyeshadow Quad in English Oak. Again, Rimmel is a brand that I usually love but this product I did not get along with.

The colours in the smaller compartments are quite pretty

The Darkest brown colour is on the far left
The main problem with this quad is that it's very impractical. When I first got it, I loved the union jack shape, but when you go to actually use the makeup it is hard to use the shadows in the smaller compartments. For the most part I do actually like the shadows, apart from the darkest brown shade. This colour was not very pigmented at all, it's hard to blend, and there is a lot of fall out (mainly the sparkles). There is also a coppery colour, a light highlighter colour,  and a rose gold colour, all of which are shimmery. These three I actually quite enjoy, but the compartments that they're in are so small! You can barely get a brush in there without picking up other colours around it. I find it gets more difficult to use as the colours as they go down. So the main problem I have with this is just how it is set up, as well as the darkest brown shade.

Another product that didn't win me over is the Maybelline Colour Whisper in Coral Ambition.
I find when I use this, it doesn't last very long on my lips and it settles into the lines/ any cracks present on my lips. It just doesn't look very flattering on my lips. It is a very "milky" consistency, and I just expected it to go on better.
Part of me thinks that it is just the particular shade that I got, because I have heard some great things about other colours (particularly the darker ones), so I do want to try out some different ones.

Another product (that just happens to be another Maybelline lip product) is the Baby Lips Electro lip balm. I  am aware I have included quite a few maybelline products in this post, but that was just by fluke. As I mentioned in another post, I adore the non-tinted regluar baby lips, so I bought these expecting the same results. That wasn't the case.

Pink Shock (left) & Strike a Rose (right)

The colours are so pretty and these lips balms smell wonderful! However, I find them to be quite drying on my lips. I don't feel like my lips are benefiting from them at all, and I just do not like wearing them very often. I find that if I do wear them, I need to put another lip balm on with them, which is kind of silly. I found that they needed to be reapplied frequently in order for my lips to feel hydrated. I think I am just going to stick with their non-tinted ones. I do however love how they look on the lips.

The final product that I regret buying is an Extreme Art Eye Liner by Gosh. I bought this eyeliner on sale quite a while ago because the colour looked amazing!

It is such a fantastic metallic gold and it also states on the bottle that its extremely waterproof. When it first goes on it looks wonderful, but as the day progresses it begins to flake off which I absolutely hate! It just doesn't look that nice. It is also a pain in the butt to get off. Although it does start to crack and get flaky, the pieces that remain on the eye refuse to come off. It is such a hassle and just not worth it. Plus the applicator has gotten all funky so its even harder to apply.

Let me know about  any beauty products that you regret purchasing,
And I hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

My adorable animals

Hiiii! :)
Life is extremely stressful. There are so many challenges and obstacles to overcome. I am horrible at dealing with stress. I get upset and down on myself, and I procrastinate. I get to the point where I am so stressed about whatever there is to do that I just put it off (which of course doesn't help the situation whatsoever!).

Something that helps me get through this are my animals. If you don't have pets then you may not understand and this may seem strange to you, but having my dog and cat around helps me feel better in general. It's like they can sense when you aren't feeling the best, and they try to help. Of course my friends and family are always there for me too, but there is something about animals that is so special.

First, there is Jasper. He's a goldendoodle and I call him my "baby" (I know this is really weird but I just love him so much:P) He is kind of a sucky dog and thinks he's smaller than he is. He is always trying to sit on my lap, which is ADORABLE! I have always been a dog person and I love Jasper dearly. When we got him I was so excited and we have been inseparable since. He's so fluffy and cuddly and he follows me everywhere, it's like I have a little body guard 24/7. Plus I get the most wonderful greeting from him when I come home. He can, without a doubt, always put a smile on my face and when I'm feeling stressed or upset I just spend some time with him. He is now 4 1/2 years old and he always makes me feel better. Dogs are wonderful!

Jasper loves resting his head or paw on my leg

He loves leaf piles!

Then there is Dumbledore. Now we only got him a year ago and before that I wasn't too keen on cats. I do love all animals, but I never thought I would actually want to own a cat. I was wrong because Dumbledore (dum dum for short :P) is such an amazing cat. He is quite comical, and very loud. He meows constantly, and likes to sneakily follow me through the house. When I get home from school he will run to the door and just meow. He walks so quietly compared to Jasper that I honestly get frightened because he just appears and starts meowing! Sometimes he'll just start sprinting through the house though which makes a racket. He is kind of like a dog in some ways (he's learned from Jasper) although he doesn't like to be cuddled as much. However when I'm studying, he'll just come and lie wherever I'm doing my work (Jasper does this as well). His fur is so soft and him and Jasper both looove belly rubs!
ignore the spider web on his head :P
Dum Dum wanted to help me study for Ecology :P

I am just so thankful that I have these animals in my life. Of course I am extremely thankful for my family and friends as well, but having such loving pets is such an incredible thing. It's amazing how much of an impact they have on your life without uttering a word.

And they actually get along :)

I realize this post got a little sappy and I apologize, but I just love my animals so much! :)
I hope you all have a wonderful day,
