New Years Eve Outfit

Hiiiii :)

Yesterday my friend Sarah and I went shopping for the perfect new years eve outfit. Our friend is hosting a party with the theme A New York City New Years so I wanted something simple yet glamorous. We went to the mall, and instead of finding an outfit.... I bought some makeup.

The first thing I purchased was the Naked Palette from Urban Decay. I know I'm a bit late on this so I decided it was time I bought it. I am so incredibly excited to use it, it looks amazing!! For the party  I think I'm going to do a simple smoky eye with this palette :)
Naked palette and the Primer potion it came with

Ahh it's just so beautiful!

We also stopped by Mac because I wanted to get a lipstick for the party.

The Lipstick I decided to get was Media. It's a beautiful deep burgundy colour and I am in love with it. I also got the lip liner Currant to go with it. Together they are going to look fantastic and I can't wait!

As we were looking at the lipsticks another one caught my eye. I am really loving nude lipsticks the past couple months and when I saw Creme in Your Coffee I couldn't leave without buying it.... it was wonderful! It is a slightly darker "your lips but better" nude colour. As soon as I got home I tried it on and I instantly loved it.

I purchased eyeshadow and lipstick for the party and some other items but I didn't find a dress and we were both exhausted. We left to go home and I had no idea what I was going to wear. I decided I might as well stop at Target, after I dropped Sarah off at home,  to see if I could find anything.  And to my surprise I actually did.
I found this lovely black dress that is very comfy and flattering. Plus it has mesh inserts on the shoulders which I thought looked nice. I really wanted a peter pan collared dress (which I didn't find) so I found a collar necklace instead. I am really happy with the outfit I found.
I'm going to wear some silver bracelets as well, and paint my nails a sparkling silver. I haven't decided on the shoes yet, but I own a few pairs that will go with the outfit nicely:)
I cannot wait for tomorrow night, New Years Eve is always so exciting! And I love being able to share it with my closest friends :)

I hope you all have a lovely day and a happy new year!

Let it Snow

Helloooo :)

Last night I handed in my very last assignment of the year! No more midterms or essays (until after Christmas) and it feels wonderful. There are still exams to look forward too (eeek!) but its nice to know I'm almost done this semester. I went to bed last night feeling relieved that I don't have to worry about anything for a while besides studying, and when I awoke everything was covered in snow. It was truly beautiful.

It is just so beautiful <3
I absolutely love snow. I know that many people do not agree with me on this, but there is something so magical about it and I kind of  got over excited and took an excessive amount of pictures.... hehehe! But just seeing this when I woke up has put me in a good mood for the rest of the day. I finished my essay on time and it snowed, how perfect is that!

This is my last week of classes as well which is exciting. I'm a bit flabbergasted at how quickly this semester flew by! As much as I am looking forward to the holidays I wish time could just slow down a bit. I honestly feel like i just started university and I'm already halfway through second year! How does that happen?

Today has started off wonderfully, and I know this post isn't really about anything in particular, but I just felt like I had to write it. I hope you all have a lovely day, and don't forget to smile!! :D And I will leave you with a song that always puts me in a good mood- Come on Eileen! :)

Products I Regret Buying

Hiiii! :)

Today as a procrastination tactic, I decided to browse through some of my makeup. I really don't know why, but when you are trying to avoid writing an essay it seems like a reasonable thing to do! As I was doing this, I noticed there were a few products which I regret buying. There weren't a ton, but there was just enough to put into a blog post!

The first item is the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. I was very excited when I purchased this because it seemed like such an interesting blush. I had high hopes for this because there are so many Maybelline products that I like, but sadly I was disappointed.

The texture of it seemed neat (almost like playdough) , as well as the concept of it (that it feels like a powder but goes on like a cream). Personally I did not like it. Yeah the feeling of it was nice, but I found it just wasn't very pigmented. I got it in the shade Rose Petal (15) , so perhaps it was just not the right colour for me, but it just did not show up on my skin at all. I tried to build it and it still wasn't doing anything for me, the pigmentation is just not good.

The next item is Rimmel's Glam Eyes Eyeshadow Quad in English Oak. Again, Rimmel is a brand that I usually love but this product I did not get along with.

The colours in the smaller compartments are quite pretty

The Darkest brown colour is on the far left
The main problem with this quad is that it's very impractical. When I first got it, I loved the union jack shape, but when you go to actually use the makeup it is hard to use the shadows in the smaller compartments. For the most part I do actually like the shadows, apart from the darkest brown shade. This colour was not very pigmented at all, it's hard to blend, and there is a lot of fall out (mainly the sparkles). There is also a coppery colour, a light highlighter colour,  and a rose gold colour, all of which are shimmery. These three I actually quite enjoy, but the compartments that they're in are so small! You can barely get a brush in there without picking up other colours around it. I find it gets more difficult to use as the colours as they go down. So the main problem I have with this is just how it is set up, as well as the darkest brown shade.

Another product that didn't win me over is the Maybelline Colour Whisper in Coral Ambition.
I find when I use this, it doesn't last very long on my lips and it settles into the lines/ any cracks present on my lips. It just doesn't look very flattering on my lips. It is a very "milky" consistency, and I just expected it to go on better.
Part of me thinks that it is just the particular shade that I got, because I have heard some great things about other colours (particularly the darker ones), so I do want to try out some different ones.

Another product (that just happens to be another Maybelline lip product) is the Baby Lips Electro lip balm. I  am aware I have included quite a few maybelline products in this post, but that was just by fluke. As I mentioned in another post, I adore the non-tinted regluar baby lips, so I bought these expecting the same results. That wasn't the case.

Pink Shock (left) & Strike a Rose (right)

The colours are so pretty and these lips balms smell wonderful! However, I find them to be quite drying on my lips. I don't feel like my lips are benefiting from them at all, and I just do not like wearing them very often. I find that if I do wear them, I need to put another lip balm on with them, which is kind of silly. I found that they needed to be reapplied frequently in order for my lips to feel hydrated. I think I am just going to stick with their non-tinted ones. I do however love how they look on the lips.

The final product that I regret buying is an Extreme Art Eye Liner by Gosh. I bought this eyeliner on sale quite a while ago because the colour looked amazing!

It is such a fantastic metallic gold and it also states on the bottle that its extremely waterproof. When it first goes on it looks wonderful, but as the day progresses it begins to flake off which I absolutely hate! It just doesn't look that nice. It is also a pain in the butt to get off. Although it does start to crack and get flaky, the pieces that remain on the eye refuse to come off. It is such a hassle and just not worth it. Plus the applicator has gotten all funky so its even harder to apply.

Let me know about  any beauty products that you regret purchasing,
And I hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

My adorable animals

Hiiii! :)
Life is extremely stressful. There are so many challenges and obstacles to overcome. I am horrible at dealing with stress. I get upset and down on myself, and I procrastinate. I get to the point where I am so stressed about whatever there is to do that I just put it off (which of course doesn't help the situation whatsoever!).

Something that helps me get through this are my animals. If you don't have pets then you may not understand and this may seem strange to you, but having my dog and cat around helps me feel better in general. It's like they can sense when you aren't feeling the best, and they try to help. Of course my friends and family are always there for me too, but there is something about animals that is so special.

First, there is Jasper. He's a goldendoodle and I call him my "baby" (I know this is really weird but I just love him so much:P) He is kind of a sucky dog and thinks he's smaller than he is. He is always trying to sit on my lap, which is ADORABLE! I have always been a dog person and I love Jasper dearly. When we got him I was so excited and we have been inseparable since. He's so fluffy and cuddly and he follows me everywhere, it's like I have a little body guard 24/7. Plus I get the most wonderful greeting from him when I come home. He can, without a doubt, always put a smile on my face and when I'm feeling stressed or upset I just spend some time with him. He is now 4 1/2 years old and he always makes me feel better. Dogs are wonderful!

Jasper loves resting his head or paw on my leg

He loves leaf piles!

Then there is Dumbledore. Now we only got him a year ago and before that I wasn't too keen on cats. I do love all animals, but I never thought I would actually want to own a cat. I was wrong because Dumbledore (dum dum for short :P) is such an amazing cat. He is quite comical, and very loud. He meows constantly, and likes to sneakily follow me through the house. When I get home from school he will run to the door and just meow. He walks so quietly compared to Jasper that I honestly get frightened because he just appears and starts meowing! Sometimes he'll just start sprinting through the house though which makes a racket. He is kind of like a dog in some ways (he's learned from Jasper) although he doesn't like to be cuddled as much. However when I'm studying, he'll just come and lie wherever I'm doing my work (Jasper does this as well). His fur is so soft and him and Jasper both looove belly rubs!
ignore the spider web on his head :P
Dum Dum wanted to help me study for Ecology :P

I am just so thankful that I have these animals in my life. Of course I am extremely thankful for my family and friends as well, but having such loving pets is such an incredible thing. It's amazing how much of an impact they have on your life without uttering a word.

And they actually get along :)

I realize this post got a little sappy and I apologize, but I just love my animals so much! :)
I hope you all have a wonderful day,

My Favourite Lip Balms

Hiii! :)

I cannot stand having dry lips, so I always have a large amount of lip balms handy. Especially now that winter is quickly approaching it's important to have a really good lip balm. There are so many that are greasy, or just don't do anything for my lips, but I have found some that I love. At the moment I have two favourites that I wear at different times;  Baby Lips from Maybelline and the Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant from Elizabeth Arden.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Protectant
I generally use the Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant before I go to sleep. This one doesnt have any SPF in it so I like to use it in the evening. I find that my lips can get really chapped overnight so I have been using this every night. You don't need a lot of it but it is amazing! It's a nice texture, and not greasy at all, although It does have kind of a strong scent that I know some don't like (but it doesn't bother me at all). When I wake up in the morning, my lips are nice and smooth. This would have to be one of my all time favourite lip products.
Baby  Lips
During the day I like to use Maybelline's Baby Lips. I used Quenched which is just a regular non-tinted balm with a fruity scent. Personally I am not the biggest fan of the tinted Baby Lips (I find them to be quite drying), but the non tinted ones are perfect. This one has SPF 20, so it's protecting your lips as well as hydrating. As you can see I am almost finished this one but I have bought another:P

This combination is fantastic and my lips rarely feel chapped/dry. If you are looking for a new lip balm I would definitely recommend both of these! Let me know what lip products you like to use:)
and I hope you all have a lovely day,

Some Good Music

Hiii:)

So today I thought I'd share some songs that I have been listening to a lot recently. It is currently midterm time at my university, and I find that listening to music is a great way to take a break from my studies. I can't listen to it while I study because I become so focused on the music instead of my work and I get nothing done. So instead I listen to it when I need to take a breather. I have narrowed it down to 15 songs (which was actually very difficult) and here they are:

Song title- artist

1) Chocolate-The 1975
2)Tennis Court- Lorde
3)Trouble- Ray LaMontague
4)A-Punk- Vampire Weekend
5)Wrecking Ball- Miley Cyrus
6)This Love- Maroon 5
7)Here Comes The Sun- The Beatles
8) These Streets- Bastille
9)Come on Eileen- Dexy's Midnight Runners
10)Beast of Burden-The Rolling Stones
11)Lets Make It- AC/DC
12)Best Song Ever- One Direction
13)Wake Me Up- Avicii
14)Berzerk- Eminem
15)The Wire- HAIM

These are in no particular order, and my taste in music is a tad random, but if I like a song then I like it, it doesn't matter what genre it is! I always enjoy reading posts like this. I find it interesting to see what kind of music people listen to, so I hope you liked this one :)
What music have you been listening? Let me know in the comments below,
and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Favourite Perfumes

Hiiii! :)
Today I thought I'd share with you what my favourite perfumes are at the moment. My perfume collection is a bit ridiculous so I narrowed it down to the three that I have worn the most in the last little while. It actually was very easy picking the first two, but I did have some difficulty narrowing it down to three! Here they are:

The first one that I chose is Peace Love and Juicy Couture by Juicy couture.
I have had this one for a while and I absolutely love it!! It has a light, floral scent and it just reminds me of sitting outside in a beautiful garden. I find it very refreshing. Now I have heard that a lot of people don't like this particular Juicy Couture perfume but I can't imagine why.Anyways I like it:P This is one of my favourite perfumes and I think the bottle is so gorgeous as well.
Peace Love & Juicy Couture 50mL
Another perfume that I had to pick is Our Moment by One Direction.
This one is fairly new, so I haven't had it for too long (only a couple weeks) but it is amazing!! It is very different from the Juicy Couture one but I love it just as much! It is a mix of both fruity and floral scents, and it lasts a long time. I have been wearing this to school, to work, anywhere really. I also think that the lid is exquisite! This is definitely my kind of perfume.
Our Moment By One Direction 100mL
I would have to say that the Juicy couture and 1D fragrances are the two that I have been wearing the most. I do however like numerous other perfumes. It was difficult to pick the third one because there are about three or four other perfumes that I do wear a lot and I had trouble picking just one. Finally I decided on Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears.
Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears 100mL
This perfume is an older one (I think it came out in 2006/2007) but I just got it a few months ago at Shoppers Drug Mart. It smells fantastic!! It has such a lovely scent I just want to eat it! It smells like berries but it's almost a candy-like smell. I do find it rather strong though so I only use a teensy bit at a time.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what perfumes you like! In the future I might do a post/video on my perfume collection but we'll see. :)
I hope you all have a wonderful day,

Dream Journal

Hiiii everyone!

Lately I have become quite annoyed at the fact that I can NEVER remember my dreams. I am referring to when I am actually aware that I had a dream during the night, which in itself is rare. The moment I wake up I can recall it clearly but later in the morning (even 10 minutes later) the details are fuzzy, and I struggle to remember what happened. Sometimes I want to tell my friends or family about a dream I had because it was funny or weird or whatever the reason, but I just cannot remember it for the life of me!
For this reason I have decided to start a dream journal. I am aware that this may seem a bit odd to some people but I think it's a neat idea. Both my mom and one of my closest friends mentioned doing this and I figured I'd give it a try and  I have found the perfect journal! :)

I have actually had this journal for over a year, but I had no idea what to use it for. I didn't want to use it as my main journal as there are no lines and the pages are more difficult to write on than normal paper. For a dream journal though I thought this was perfect!
Now I am actually very lazy when it comes to journals. If I am writing a long entry, there are times when I may not even complete it. This being said, I am going to try my hardest not to be lazy with this one. It is sitting on my night table with a pen so that if I wake up and remember a dream I can write it down right away.
Let me know what you think of this idea, or if you have done this before, let me know how it went. :)
I hope you all have a lovely day

September! :O

Hiiii Everyone!

I'm sorry that I haven't made a new post in a while but the school year started and things are starting to get busy once again! But don't worry, I'm still here :P
Last week I started my second year of university and although I was excited, I was also rather anxious. To be quite honest I had a horrible first year. I was extremely stressed, I hated my program, I spent many nights in tears and my marks were not the best. Over the summer I realized that I needed to try something different and so I changed programs and took courses that I actually will like. So far, I think that I have made the right decision because I am actually enjoying school now (hopefully it stays that way!)

I have also begun a new hockey season! I have been playing competitive hockey for 9 years now and I absolutely love it! Hockey is such a big part of my life and I am so thrilled that my season is finally starting. It`s just so much fun to be on a team. Plus it keeps me in shape and  is a really nice stress reliever too. We don`t actually have any league games until October, but there is a tournament next week which I am looking forward to, and I have an exhibition game tomorrow. :)

Between school, hockey and work the year can get really busy, and there are times when I just get extremely stressed, but I just need to remind myself that I am lucky to be given the opportunity to do things like go to school and join a sports team. My goal this year is to work hard, try new things, and stay optimistic even when it is super hard to do so.

I thought this was very fitting! always believe in your abilities :)
For those of you in school, I hope you have a successful year! Work hard, stay positive and good things will come :D
Have a wonderful day!

Finally got my hair done!! :D

Hiiiii everyone!! :)

I have FINALLY gotten my hair done! As mentioned before, I haven't gotten a hair cut in over a year...Yikes!!I decided a while ago that I wanted ombre hair, and so that's what I did.
Although it is something to get used to, I am absolutely in love with it! My hair dresser did a fantastic job and the colour is perfect! I am so happy with how it turned out:)
Let me know what you think about ombre hair,

DIY Flower headbands

Hiiiiii everyone! :)

Lately I have really been in to hair accessories. I purchased a few pretty bows and clips last week that I absolutely adore, but I was unable to find a flower headband that I really liked. A lot of the ones I saw were poor quality and I didn't want to waste my money on them.
So my friend and I decided to use fake flowers and headbands from Dollarama and create our own.

We pulled the flowers and leaves off the main stem, then used a hot glue gun to attach them to the actual headband. The whole process took about 10 minutes, and the final results were wonderful!
I would definitely recommend doing this. It's easy, cheap and doesn't take much time at all. Plus you can personalize it any way you want since you are making it yourself. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Ombre Hair

Hiiiiii everyone!!! :)
For the past couple of months I have been trying to decide what to do with my hair. It has been the same for years and it's time for a change, but I am reluctant to cut it. It is very long but I don't want to chop it off,so I thought about changing the colour instead. I am definitely not brave enough to dye my entire head, but I have been really loving the Ombre hair styles. It isn't as much of a commitment, but it is still a nice change. Plus I think it looks sick.

I originally got this idea from Youtuber's Zoella (Zoe) and Sprinkle of Glitter (Louis). They both have ombre hair and I absolutely adore it! I think it is something that would suit me as well. :)

Zoe

Louise
My hair is dark brown, so I don't want to go too blonde as that might look bad. I also thought of doing a different colour like blue or purple, but I was afraid that it would look terrible once it faded(I've seen this happen, especially with blue). After a lot of consideration, I have decided on a reddish-copper colour, similar to Bella Thorne's hair colour. My hair dresser also helped me choose something that would go nicely with my hair colour.

I have booked my hair appointment for next week and I cannot wait. I will definitely share the final results with you, so hopefully it turns out nicely!
Let me know what you guys think of ombre hair in the comments below :)
I hope you all have a marvelous day,
