Spring Essentials

Hiiii! :)

Spring is such a beautiful time of year. The weather is lovely, there are cute bunnies all over my lawn, and the flowers and trees are in bloom everywhere you look. Now that the school year is finished for me, I am able to enjoy these simple pleasures without being super stressed out!

One thing I love being able to do is read, since there really is no time for that during the school year. I just started reading "Everything is Illuminated" so hopefully it's good! :)

In spring I absolutely adore light pastel nails. these two colours by Essie are my favourite at the moment: "absolutely shore" and "lilacism".

My scrunchie from Garage is a necessity for me. Scrunchies are awesome because I find they don't get as tangled in your hair as regular hair elastics do , and they don't rip your hair when you take them out.

I just bought a new pair of sunglasses from Aldo because I sat on my last pair which are now broken. I do really love this new pair though and definitely need them as the weather is getting nicer!

And of course who doesn't love music!! I've already made a spring/summer playlist that I think is perfect ;)

Let me know what your spring essentials are, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Some Good Music

Hiii:)

So today I thought I'd share some songs that I have been listening to a lot recently. It is currently midterm time at my university, and I find that listening to music is a great way to take a break from my studies. I can't listen to it while I study because I become so focused on the music instead of my work and I get nothing done. So instead I listen to it when I need to take a breather. I have narrowed it down to 15 songs (which was actually very difficult) and here they are:

Song title- artist

1) Chocolate-The 1975
2)Tennis Court- Lorde
3)Trouble- Ray LaMontague
4)A-Punk- Vampire Weekend
5)Wrecking Ball- Miley Cyrus
6)This Love- Maroon 5
7)Here Comes The Sun- The Beatles
8) These Streets- Bastille
9)Come on Eileen- Dexy's Midnight Runners
10)Beast of Burden-The Rolling Stones
11)Lets Make It- AC/DC
12)Best Song Ever- One Direction
13)Wake Me Up- Avicii
14)Berzerk- Eminem
15)The Wire- HAIM

These are in no particular order, and my taste in music is a tad random, but if I like a song then I like it, it doesn't matter what genre it is! I always enjoy reading posts like this. I find it interesting to see what kind of music people listen to, so I hope you liked this one :)
What music have you been listening? Let me know in the comments below,
and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

"I Like Large Parties, They're So Intimate"

Hiiiii :D

This afternoon when I  went to pick up the mail, I noticed there was a small package for me. I knew what it was right away and became very excited!
Last week my friends and I went to see The Great Gatsby. I will admit I was a bit skeptical about seeing it just because of how they paired modern music with a movie that is set in the 1920s. I actually really enjoyed it  although there were certain things about the film that I wasn't too crazy about. One of my favourite aspects of the movie actually ended up being the soundtrack! The music made the film come to life and it just fit perfectly despite what I previously thought! I loved it so much that I purchased the CD online at Walmart (free shipping!!! yay!) So it finally came today and I was ecstatic.

Needless to say I have already listen to the album and downloaded it onto my Ipod. My favourite tracks are Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Ray and Over the Love by Florence + the Machine. I also love A  Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got) by Fergie ft Q-tip & Goonrock. That's a little more upbeat!

I think what they did on the inside of the case is perfect!

Feel free to leave any of your thoughts about the movie, soundtrack or anything you may come to mind:)

My Newly Purchased Albums

     Hiiii :)
The other day, my friends and I went to the mall to purchase some birthday gifts and some other necessities. We had walked the length of the mall and were about to turn around and walk back to the other end, but we saw HMV. For those of you that don't know, this store sells music, movies, games, etc. Going into this store is very dangerous for me because there is no way for me to leave without buying something. I have very little self control:P I am aware that many of you probably just prefer to buy music online, but personally I like to have an actual hard copy of the CD, so I love going into this store!

We entered the store and I spotted a CD that I really wanted to get. I then saw another and this went on for a while. In total, I bought five CD's.... I just couldn't help myself. I purchased the following:
  • To Be Loved- Michael Buble
  • "Bad Blood"-Bastille
  • All the Little Lights- Passenger
  • Right Place Right Time- Olly Murs
  • Love Actually Soundtrack

I absolutely love each CD that I got, and they are all so different from each other.  The ones that I have definitely listened to the most are Michael Buble's and Bastille's. I have loved Michael Buble for a very long time, and whenever he releases a new CD I get very excited. I love listening to him sing, his voice is so smooth and perfect!  I absolutely adore "To be Loved"! It is so wonderful and it puts me in an instant good mood! Although it is so hard to pick a favourite song, I think I will have to choose Who's Lovin' You. It has been stuck in my head since I got this CD. I am very pleased with this disc and I am so happy that I bought it. It is one of those CD's that you can listen to in any mood!
"Bad Blood" by Bastille is so very different from Buble's album yet it is just as wonderful. I heard them for the first time a few months ago when I saw someone do a cover of one of their songs on Youtube. For me, this is such a great album for spring and summer. My favourites would have to be Pompeii and Flaws. I love listening this album while I'm driving, windows down and music blaring. The songs are all very catchy. Most of the songs are upbeat, although there are a few slower ones, such as Oblivion. This is definitely and album that I will love for a very long time.
For a while I have wanted to buy Olly Murs' new CD. Since he is a British artist, his CD came out later here in Canada than it did in Europe so I had to wait patiently. I am so happy that I was finally able to get it because his songs are just so upbeat and make me want to dance. Sadly I have no dancing skills and I do look quite silly, but it is just so much fun:)
All the Little Lights by Passenger is very good as well. The songs are all fantastic. It is nice to listen to when I am just sitting in my room reading or something. It is very relaxing, and I just think he has the neatest voice! I have been listening to this a lot as well.
The fifth album is the Love Actually soundtrack. This movie is honestly amazing, I could watch it over and over again and never get sick of it! I do love the music in it, so when i saw this CD on the rack I picked it up right away! I think the music in movies is so important. It helps make a scene come to life, and the music for this movie is perfect. I love listening to this album, it makes me happy and reminds me of some of my favourite parts of the movie.

I do not regret buying any of these CD's because I know for certain I will get good use out of them! I would recommend all these albums as I love them all. If any of you have new (or old) albums that you are enjoying, let me know about them below:)
