Products I Regret Buying

Hiiii! :)

Today as a procrastination tactic, I decided to browse through some of my makeup. I really don't know why, but when you are trying to avoid writing an essay it seems like a reasonable thing to do! As I was doing this, I noticed there were a few products which I regret buying. There weren't a ton, but there was just enough to put into a blog post!

The first item is the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. I was very excited when I purchased this because it seemed like such an interesting blush. I had high hopes for this because there are so many Maybelline products that I like, but sadly I was disappointed.

The texture of it seemed neat (almost like playdough) , as well as the concept of it (that it feels like a powder but goes on like a cream). Personally I did not like it. Yeah the feeling of it was nice, but I found it just wasn't very pigmented. I got it in the shade Rose Petal (15) , so perhaps it was just not the right colour for me, but it just did not show up on my skin at all. I tried to build it and it still wasn't doing anything for me, the pigmentation is just not good.

The next item is Rimmel's Glam Eyes Eyeshadow Quad in English Oak. Again, Rimmel is a brand that I usually love but this product I did not get along with.

The colours in the smaller compartments are quite pretty

The Darkest brown colour is on the far left
The main problem with this quad is that it's very impractical. When I first got it, I loved the union jack shape, but when you go to actually use the makeup it is hard to use the shadows in the smaller compartments. For the most part I do actually like the shadows, apart from the darkest brown shade. This colour was not very pigmented at all, it's hard to blend, and there is a lot of fall out (mainly the sparkles). There is also a coppery colour, a light highlighter colour,  and a rose gold colour, all of which are shimmery. These three I actually quite enjoy, but the compartments that they're in are so small! You can barely get a brush in there without picking up other colours around it. I find it gets more difficult to use as the colours as they go down. So the main problem I have with this is just how it is set up, as well as the darkest brown shade.

Another product that didn't win me over is the Maybelline Colour Whisper in Coral Ambition.
I find when I use this, it doesn't last very long on my lips and it settles into the lines/ any cracks present on my lips. It just doesn't look very flattering on my lips. It is a very "milky" consistency, and I just expected it to go on better.
Part of me thinks that it is just the particular shade that I got, because I have heard some great things about other colours (particularly the darker ones), so I do want to try out some different ones.

Another product (that just happens to be another Maybelline lip product) is the Baby Lips Electro lip balm. I  am aware I have included quite a few maybelline products in this post, but that was just by fluke. As I mentioned in another post, I adore the non-tinted regluar baby lips, so I bought these expecting the same results. That wasn't the case.

The colours are so pretty and these lips balms smell wonderful! However, I find them to be quite drying on my lips. I don't feel like my lips are benefiting from them at all, and I just do not like wearing them very often. I find that if I do wear them, I need to put another lip balm on with them, which is kind of silly. I found that they needed to be reapplied frequently in order for my lips to feel hydrated. I think I am just going to stick with their non-tinted ones. I do however love how they look on the lips.

The final product that I regret buying is an Extreme Art Eye Liner by Gosh. I bought this eyeliner on sale quite a while ago because the colour looked amazing!

It is such a fantastic metallic gold and it also states on the bottle that its extremely waterproof. When it first goes on it looks wonderful, but as the day progresses it begins to flake off which I absolutely hate! It just doesn't look that nice. It is also a pain in the butt to get off. Although it does start to crack and get flaky, the pieces that remain on the eye refuse to come off. It is such a hassle and just not worth it. Plus the applicator has gotten all funky so its even harder to apply.

Let me know about  any beauty products that you regret purchasing,
And I hope you all have a wonderful day! :)
