Spring Essentials

Hiiii! :)

Spring is such a beautiful time of year. The weather is lovely, there are cute bunnies all over my lawn, and the flowers and trees are in bloom everywhere you look. Now that the school year is finished for me, I am able to enjoy these simple pleasures without being super stressed out!

One thing I love being able to do is read, since there really is no time for that during the school year. I just started reading "Everything is Illuminated" so hopefully it's good! :)

In spring I absolutely adore light pastel nails. these two colours by Essie are my favourite at the moment: "absolutely shore" and "lilacism".

My scrunchie from Garage is a necessity for me. Scrunchies are awesome because I find they don't get as tangled in your hair as regular hair elastics do , and they don't rip your hair when you take them out.

I just bought a new pair of sunglasses from Aldo because I sat on my last pair which are now broken. I do really love this new pair though and definitely need them as the weather is getting nicer!

And of course who doesn't love music!! I've already made a spring/summer playlist that I think is perfect ;)

Let me know what your spring essentials are, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Lippies

Hiiiiii! :)
When it comes to wearing lipstick I am not the bravest. I only really got into wearing it last year, and since then I have stuck (for the most part) with nudes. The past month or two I have been in love with this combination: Mac Viva Glam 2 Lipstick and Mac Cremesheen Glass in Boy Bait (I find that name very amusing:P)

The lipstick is a satin, so it is not completely matte, and I absolutely love it. It is a browny nude colour and it's very easy to wear. For me it is the perfect "my lips but better" lipstick. On top of that I use Boy Bait which is a slightly more peachy-brown nude and it honestly feels like lip balm. It is not sticky at all. These two products together are just so amazing (they're awesome alone two :P). I would definitely recommend both! Let me know what lip combinations you enjoy,
and I hope you all have a wonderful day

Time to relax

Hiiiii! :)

I am in a rather good mood at the moment because reading week has finally arrived!! These past two weeks have been so hectic. I've had four midterms/tests, two assignments due, plus playoff games for my hockey team and work. I have been getting very minimal sleep and everything has been go go go. My final midterm was this afternoon, and it didn't go well but there's nothing I can do about it now and I can finally relax (sort of:P)

I have a week off of school, and I do still have lots of work to do over the break, but it's nice not to have to drive into school everyday. I've decided that tonight I am not going to do any work, I am just going to relax and take it easy because I really need a break!

So on this valentines day, I am going to go to the dollar store, buy lots of chocolate bars, and watch some romantic comedies (or something like that) because I can. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's day, whether you are spending it with a special someone, your friends, or your family.

I found this image on tumblr and I just think it's the cutest!! <3

The Olympics

Hiiiii! :)
The Olympics are finally upon us and I couldn't be more excited! Personally the winter olympics are my absolute favourite. I do love the summer games as well, but there is just something about the winter Olympics that stands out.Watching the games just makes me fell so patriotic. I am currently watching the opening ceremonies and when Team Canada walked out my heart just swelled with pride. And I am loving Canada's Olympic clothing (especially the mittens, I already have a pair :P)

These next couple of weeks are going to be filled with excitement and I cannot wait. I am especially look forward to hockey, speed skating and the skiing events. Hopefully I'll get a chance to watch reruns of certain events that take place too early in the morning for me (Sochi is nine hours ahead).

What events are you looking forward to? I hope you all enjoy the Olympics, wherever you are from, And I wish the athletes the best of luck!
Oh, and Go Canada! :)

January Favourites

Hiiii! :)

I cannot believe January is over, it went by ridiculously fast. Everything is moving so quickly with school and hockey and everything else that's going on. But I figured that since it is the end of the month, it would be appropriate to do a January favourites (plus I haven't done a monthly favourites in a while :P) So here we go....

My first favourte would have to be the Naked 1 palette. I have been using this a lot and it is just so beautiful. The only colour that I'm not too fond of is sidecar since there is a lot of glitter fallout (It makes me look like a disco ball), but the whole palette is just marvelous. The eyeshadows are so pigmented and beautiful and I am very happy with this. I really want to purchase the naked 3 palette as well :)

I have also been loving this Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. It is a matte bronzer and ohhh my goodness it smells like chocolate!! I am 100% a chocolate fanatic, so this product is just the bees knees (ahaha):P  I basically wear this everyday and it doesn't look muddy at all. I absolutely love it!

I have also really gotten into the Revlon lip butters. I kind of put off trying these because I had tried similar products that were said to be like these that I did not get on with. Finally I decided to try them and they are amazing!I have berry smoothie, which is a really pretty pink colour with some glitter in it, and pink truffle, which is a gorgeous nude colour (and I find it had a lot less glitter/shimmer). They feel like a lip balm, but the colour pay off is a lot better than a tinted lip balm. I have been using these a lot, even if i'm not putting makeup on.

Berry smoothie (left) and pink truffle (right)

I have also been obsessed with Essie's nail polish "Devil's advocate". In the winter months I love using darker colours on my nails and this one is so gorgeous! I find when my skin is paler, these darker colours look really nice. I realize it looks black here, but it is actually a very very dark purple colour. The colour is hard to decifer sometimes , but I adore it!

When it comes to makeup removers and cleansers I can be very picky, and there are many products that just refuse to take my makeup off, but Bioderma is fantastic! It removes everything, and it honestly feels like water. I just put some on a cotton pad and rub it all over my face and eyes and it takes everything off like a dream:)

Another favourite would have to be the Body Shop's coconut body butter. It just has the most wonderful coconut scent and it  is so hydrating. I bought this massive tub in the summer and kind of stopped using it once school started, but this month I have been using it sooo much. Plus the smell reminds me of summer which is always nice!

And you probably all know about my candle obsession....but this candle is divine! It is Marshmallow fireside from bath and body works and that is exactly how it smells. It is just such a nice, comforting candle and it isn't overwhelmingly strong, so I don't get headaches. It's almost all gone which makes me sad but I do have another candle to use afterwards.

As for books, I have been reading A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. I have read this book numerous times and I read it again this month. I just love this book so much. It is set in the early 1900s in Brooklyn and is centered around a young girl named Francie, and it talks about different aspects of her family's life as she grows older. Her family has very little money and there are plenty of struggles that they face. This book is amazing and I have to say it is one of my favourites. I would highly recommend it.

This one many people may disagree with but I have been loving the snow!! Yes we got more, A LOT more and I am thrilled. It just makes everything look so beautiful! I know many people want gone, and I am looking forward to spring, but there is just something so magical about snow and the winter time. And don't worry, I have been tobogganing a lot the past couple of months ;)

That is it for my favourites this month, I hope you all have a wonderful day, and let me know what you have been enjoying lately,

High End Beauty Wishlist

1. Urban Decay Naked 3  | 2. Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm | 3. Naked Basics | 4. Benefit Rockateur Blush | 5. Lorac Pro Palette  | 6. Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation | 7. Tarte Airbuki Foundation Brush

Hiiii! :)
Over the past couple of months I have been wishing for some new beauty items. Of course I really don't NEED any of these, but makeup is just a beautiful thing and I have really been getting into it this past year and a half.

Two items that have at the top of my list are the Naked 3 palette and the Lorac Pro Palette. I do have a slight obsession with eyeshadows. I have also really been wanting to grab the Naked Basics palette as I think it is just perfect for every day. I really want to add more matte eyeshadows to my collection seeing as the majority of the ones I currently own are shimmery.

I also have a slight obsession with lip balms... I have sooo many already but the Dior creme de rose just looks amazing. It's so beautiful and luxurious.

I do not have very many blushes and so I really want to get one that I can wear every day. Benefit's Rockateur blush looks so beautiful and I have heard so many amazing things about it!

The last two items were brought to my attention by Essiebutton (Estee) . She has recently mentioned this Tarte foundation a few times in her videos, and she uses it with the Airbuki brush. I really love mineral foundations because it is very natural looking and feels like nothing is on your face. I'm all about the natural looking makeup!:P  This just looks so lovely and I feel like I would really love these two items together.

Let me know if you have any of these items or what you have been wishing for. I hope you all have a lovely day,

Little Black Boots

Hiiii! :)
Last weekend I went to visit one of my very best friends, Emily, who goes to school a couple hours away. I had such a wonderful time! I got to meet her roommates and her boyfriend, who were all such lovely people! I was so happy to finally be able to meet everyone. All in all I had so much fun even though the weather was rather dreary. The day I got there it was pouring rain, but we still went out for lunch and walked around some shops along the main street.
Stupidly, the only pair of shoes I had brought with me were an old pair of moccasins that I have had for ages. Needless to say, my feet became soaked within 1 min and I realized I needed to find a new pair of shoes. One of the stores we went into was Urban Outfitters, and I found the most adorable boots! Plus they were $20 off which was fantastic! I honestly get so excited when I find shoes that fit because my feet are rather large, and there are a lot of stores that don't carry my size. These fit so wonderfully and I love them!

I also bought some tea (which I didn't need but I loved the name of it: "A midsummer nights dream"),  but the boots... oh my I just love them. I have worn them every day this week, and I think they were an excellent purchase!
I hope you all have a wonderful day,
