January Favourites

Hiiii! :)

I cannot believe January is over, it went by ridiculously fast. Everything is moving so quickly with school and hockey and everything else that's going on. But I figured that since it is the end of the month, it would be appropriate to do a January favourites (plus I haven't done a monthly favourites in a while :P) So here we go....

My first favourte would have to be the Naked 1 palette. I have been using this a lot and it is just so beautiful. The only colour that I'm not too fond of is sidecar since there is a lot of glitter fallout (It makes me look like a disco ball), but the whole palette is just marvelous. The eyeshadows are so pigmented and beautiful and I am very happy with this. I really want to purchase the naked 3 palette as well :)

I have also been loving this Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. It is a matte bronzer and ohhh my goodness it smells like chocolate!! I am 100% a chocolate fanatic, so this product is just the bees knees (ahaha):P  I basically wear this everyday and it doesn't look muddy at all. I absolutely love it!

I have also really gotten into the Revlon lip butters. I kind of put off trying these because I had tried similar products that were said to be like these that I did not get on with. Finally I decided to try them and they are amazing!I have berry smoothie, which is a really pretty pink colour with some glitter in it, and pink truffle, which is a gorgeous nude colour (and I find it had a lot less glitter/shimmer). They feel like a lip balm, but the colour pay off is a lot better than a tinted lip balm. I have been using these a lot, even if i'm not putting makeup on.

I have also been obsessed with Essie's nail polish "Devil's advocate". In the winter months I love using darker colours on my nails and this one is so gorgeous! I find when my skin is paler, these darker colours look really nice. I realize it looks black here, but it is actually a very very dark purple colour. The colour is hard to decifer sometimes , but I adore it!

When it comes to makeup removers and cleansers I can be very picky, and there are many products that just refuse to take my makeup off, but Bioderma is fantastic! It removes everything, and it honestly feels like water. I just put some on a cotton pad and rub it all over my face and eyes and it takes everything off like a dream:)

Another favourite would have to be the Body Shop's coconut body butter. It just has the most wonderful coconut scent and it  is so hydrating. I bought this massive tub in the summer and kind of stopped using it once school started, but this month I have been using it sooo much. Plus the smell reminds me of summer which is always nice!

And you probably all know about my candle obsession....but this candle is divine! It is Marshmallow fireside from bath and body works and that is exactly how it smells. It is just such a nice, comforting candle and it isn't overwhelmingly strong, so I don't get headaches. It's almost all gone which makes me sad but I do have another candle to use afterwards.

As for books, I have been reading A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. I have read this book numerous times and I read it again this month. I just love this book so much. It is set in the early 1900s in Brooklyn and is centered around a young girl named Francie, and it talks about different aspects of her family's life as she grows older. Her family has very little money and there are plenty of struggles that they face. This book is amazing and I have to say it is one of my favourites. I would highly recommend it.

This one many people may disagree with but I have been loving the snow!! Yes we got more, A LOT more and I am thrilled. It just makes everything look so beautiful! I know many people want gone, and I am looking forward to spring, but there is just something so magical about snow and the winter time. And don't worry, I have been tobogganing a lot the past couple of months ;)

That is it for my favourites this month, I hope you all have a wonderful day, and let me know what you have been enjoying lately,

Beautiful Nature

Hiiii! :)

Today was absolutely gorgeous (well it rained early in the morning but that cleared up quickly). The sun was shining, it was the perfect temperature and it was jut wonderful being outside! This afternoon I decided to just enjoy the nice weather and read on my porch with my dog. I actually finished reading The Last Song a couple hours ago and I really liked it, although the last few chapters are very emotional.  Personally I like it a lot better than the movie but that's what usually happens. :)

As I sat on my porch I just put my book down for a bit and enjoyed the scenery. There was actually quite a lot of activity on this particular day. There has been a coyote near my house the past few weeks and it made another appearance today. My dog tried to run after it, but thankfully the coyote was beyond my dog's electric fence line. They had a little stare down but when I grabbed Jasper the coyote got scared and ran away.

Sorry it's a bit blurry, he was kind of trotting away but here is the coyote
The coyote was definitely the biggest animal I saw today, but I got to see so many other wonderful creatures as well:

We have a few bird feeders and I love seeing all the pretty birds that come to visit!

This was a baby bunny that wandered onto our lawn, but he ran off before I got too close
There were even cute ducks in the creek beside our house
Jasper enjoyed the nice weather too!
Today was such a wonderful day. It was nice to be able to sit outside and just enjoy nature. As you can probably tell from previous blog posts, I do enjoy being outside. It's just so peaceful and it's nice to be able to slow down every now and then.
I hope you all had a wonderful day, feel free to leave any thoughts you may have below!

The Perfect Evening

Hiiii! :)
I love evenings where there is nothing you have to do, nowhere you have to be, and you can just relax in your sweat pants and read a book. Tonight was one of those relaxing evenings. I lit a candle, made some peppermint tea, got comfortable with my blanket and started reading the Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.

This is my warm vanilla sugar candle from Bath and Body works... it smells wonderful!!

A few weeks ago I went to the library and got this book because I have seen the movie and enjoyed it, yet I haven't read the book. This is very odd because usually I need to read a book before I see the movie. Anyways, I decided to start reading it tonight even though I'm in the middle of another book (Wicked by Gregory Maguire) because I have to return it in a few days.

I haven't read too much of it yet but so far I am enjoying it. Usually I like books more than the movies, so I'm excited to finish this one! Even though it was kind of a slow evening I had a really nice night. Sometimes you just need to slow down and read a book for a couple hours.
If any of you have recently read a good book that you would recommend let me know, I am always looking for something new to read :)
I hope you all have a lovely evening,

One Day

During the school year, I find it so difficult to read books because I am so busy already. That is why during the summer holiday I try to read as many books as I can. Over the course of the summer I decided that I will write about some of the books that I have read and enjoyed. One book that  I have just recently finished reading  is One Day by David Nicholls.
I really enjoyed this book! The whole format of it was really neat. It goes through the life of these two characters, Emma and Dexter. It begins when they are in their early twenties and each chapter is the same day (July 15th) but a year later. It tells about the struggles they face as they grow older. They both have dreams they wish to fulfill, although they are very different. Their friendship is rocky at times, and at points they don't even speak to each other, but they realized they needed each other. I find it so amazing how consumed in a book you can become. For me characters seemed so real and I felt so many different emotions.
The ending of the book is quite shocking and tragic. I did not expect it at all. I don't want to say to much as that may ruin the story for some of you who wish to read it, but it was a very surprising end. Although the end this I still loved it. I am glad I decided to finally read this book. If any of you are looking for a good book to read I would definitely recommend this one! :)
